Sisters

Sisters, Dress-up, And Makeup
This past weekend was C-R-A-Z-Y!! The girl's had parties one right after the another. My daughter sprung on me at the last minute that the party she was going to was a Halloween party. I had no time to run out and get a costume, so we had to improvise. lol! We curled her hair, threw on some makeup (well, A LOT of makeup) and she decided that she would go as a country music singer, so I went with it...lol! Below is Kourtney & she went to a Bowling Party!Kailey doesn't even look like herself with all that make-up on! ;)
Kailey & Karley
Karley-Marley
Last week, Karley stayed home from school due to a bad cough. So, we decided to have some fun with makeup. She couldn't wait for her sisters to come home from school, so she could show them her new look.
She was so cute, because for the rest of the afternoon, she carried a sassy purse around over her shoulder. She was pretending to be shopping at the mall. Heh heh!! I love the imagination of a child!
My girl's LOVE to have their pictures taken. So, later that evening I snapped a few pictures of the girl's goofing around.
My little ones also love to take my shoes and walk around the house in them. In the picture below, Kourtney put on a pair of my boots and they were pretending to be Hannah Montana! lol!

I love having girl's....they are so much fun! My girl's are all so close in age that they do bicker a lot with one another, but they sure do love each other nonetheless. Thanks for stopping by! XO ~Liz

~BOO~
Hi Ladies, sorry for being MIA, but I've been super busy the last few weeks. We took a mini weekend trip, hosted a big party at our house, and have been swamped with kids activities. This is the 1st year October has been a crazy-busy month for us!
Above is a glass jar I filled with brown rice. I placed a fall candle inside and then added a fall wreath around the base. I have this sitting on my kitchen counter.
Introducing Mrs. Pumpkin!! I've had this light up pumpkin for YEARS. I can't seem to get rid of her. I placed her in a basket and added some greenery and fall leaves to the mix.
I got these cute block letters at HomeGoods last year, along with this pumpkin!
I had these pumpkins in another room and moved them to this table.
Mr. Scarecrow found a home on the hearth and he lights up at night. My girl's love him!
Below is my front door with a fall wreath I purchased from Ross for $6.00.
Below: I put the metal pumpkin, scarecrow, and Autumn sign on the staircase, so when you enter through the front door you see this grouping.
Below: This is how my hearth looks like at night.
Another view.
I added a few more fall mums to my front porch. I never knew how much watering was required to keep the mums alive and pretty looking. It seems I'm out there every day watering...lol! ;)
My grass was just cut, so I took advantage of getting a nice shot of green grass before it turns brown for the winter. ;)

We planted this birch tree and it went through a major growth spurt this year. I can't wait to see what it will look like next fall.
Watering the mums...a daily occurrence!
I added a few pumpkins here and there.

Have a great Friday everyone and thanks for stopping by! Many of you have sent emails and I apologize for not getting back to you. I appreciate all the kind words and responses to my posts. When things slow down around here, I will do my best to respond. Have a great weekend. Oh and by the way, are any of you getting the itch to begin decoarting for Christmas? I am!! The wheels are turning...as the day after Halloween (November 1st) I will begin the Christmas transformation. =) XOXO ~Liz

Red And Black Themed Kitchen

~My Red Kitchen~
Linking up with Kelly's Corner - Show Us Your Lives ~Kitchens
Hi Everyone! Well, here is my kitchen that you all have seen a gazillion times. This is where I spend most of my time. I love that there is plenty of room to spread out and it's the perfect size kitchen for our super-sized family! One thing I LOVE in my kitchen is my pantry door which I ordered from Home Depot. I get more comments on it when company visits.

I have a coffee and bistro theme running throughout my kitchen!
It's hard to get a picture of this kitchen since there are so many odd angles, but there is plenty of counter space to go around.
My Waverly Curtain Valences
I am obsessed with having a clean and shiny sink. Are any of you the same way? I have found the best way to get a clean and shiny sink is to use Pledge Orange Oil...it works AWESOME!!
It also helps keep the hard water spots down. I wash the sink then dry it well...then spray the orange oil in, and dry it with paper towel. This also works great if you are in a hurry and company is about to come over. I use the orange oil on all my stainless steel appliances and whala...everything looks as clean as a whistle.

Last year I used chalkboard paint in my kitchen, and then bought some trim made out of pvc, and spray painted the trim espresso brown. I love the fact that I have the freedom to write whatever I want. I can write Happy Halloween, Merry Christmas, Happy Easter etc...for the seasons. I love to change things up in my house ALL THE TIME!! ;)
Here is my chandelier in the kitchen nook area! I decorate with this garland every fall.
As many of you know, I painted and distressed my kitchen island last year. I'm so glad I did, because I wanted the island to be the focal point of the kitchen.
I love to cook and bake.
I bought this zebra rug at Ross and can't seem to part with it just yet. I change my rugs out often too!
And that's it...there's my kitchen!! I hope you all have a fabulous weekend. XOXO ~Liz

Exterior Fall Decorating & Landscaping

~*~
Edging, Mulching, Sweeping, Window Cleaning, And Outdoor Seasonal Decor...DONE!!
Happy Monday, Ladies! Yesterday, we decided to give our front yard some much needed love. We edged and mulched the front flower beds. I still have one more flower bed to go that is seen in the picture below, and then we will be done. It's amazing how much mulch the flower beds require to look pretty. No matter how much we estimate that we will need, we always come up short every time! lol! I wish we had a covered porch to add more visual interest to the front of the house, but you have to work with what you have, right, so I decided to add two chairs with pillows. Now my hubby and I can sit out front when the kids are playing, instead of sitting on the steps. One day I would love to get a pretty bench out there. I added a few scarecrows and some metal pumpkins that stick in the ground. If you look at the lamp post, you will see one. Below is another scarecrow on the other side of the house. In the picture above, we used to have very squared off flower beds. So, this summer I gave the beds some curves. I took a garden hose and mapped out a design and then cut into the grass using a shovel. I cut deep and then mounded the beds with the left over dirt and then placed the mulch on top.
In this photo above, you can see the beds with a fresh coat of black mulch. I love black mulch because it makes any flowers or shrubs you install stand out.
I love personalizing a space. In this case, I added an adorable monogrammed flag that I purchased at Kirkland's last year.
See the curve in this picture? I cut all that grass out and it was a lot of work, but well worth it in the end.
Another view showing the curved flower beds. I used to have colorful pansies lining the walkway, but that didn't last long, as the deer kept eating them, so I have stuck to monkey grass and shrubs.
A close-up of the front porch. This will change in the next few days, as I am planning on adding a hay bale (possibly) and more mums and some assorted pumpkins.
Next year, I have big plans for my flower beds, but for now it is clean and simple.
I added Mr. Scarecrow to the chair. I've had this little guy for years. He is old and faded, but I love him anyway! lol! So, here he sits awaiting the big night...HALLOWEEN!! ;)
Here is a wreath I purchased at Kirkland's this year .

I love mums!!

Here is a side view of our house. Next year I would like to give some attention to this side of the house!
Yesterday, I noticed that my windows were filthy. So, here's a tip for those of you that don't already know this: Fill up a bottle with equal portions of water and vinegar and spray it on your windows and wipe it dry. What's great about this solution is that it does not leave streaks. My windows are super shiny now, can you tell in this photo? I use it when I clean my car windows too. It leaves them looking perfect every time.
I bought this doormat and pumpkin at Wal-Mart last year.
As we were finishing up our yardwork yesterday, the clouds began to roll in as you see in this photo. Rain was on it's way... Here I sit this morning with a warm cup of coffee writing this post and watching the rain come down. We sure do need it, so I can't really complain. Today, will be a day to tidy up the house, do a few loads of laundry, and perhaps kick my feet up and watch a good movie. I may even turn the fireplace on...it's the perfect day for it.
Thanks for stopping by. Come back later this week, I will have some Halloween items to show you!
Have a good day everyone! XO ~Liz
