Family Room - Deco Mesh Christmas Wreath And Mantle

Wanted to show you a little more progress...
I created another Deco Mesh Wreath for my Family Room Mantle and hung it on the iron piece.
See, the mantle needed more of a focal point....this is what it looked like before I added the wreath.
You can adorn your wreath any way you would like, but these are just a few items I purchased at Hobby Lobby that I thought would work well in the wreath.  I hot glued them onto the mesh and it adheres very nicely.
Sparkly presents
Christmas Candy
I was going to place the Love sign right in the center, but ended up not using it after all.
I can't wait to show you the whole Family Room.  I think it's turning out very cheerful and festive  looking.
Again, not finished....just wanted to share a little progress.
I put up my living room tree yesterday and completed the living room mantle, too!  Anyway, last night I forgot to turn the Christmas lights off on the  tree which sits center stage in the front bay window, and as I was decorating the mantle I saw a few cars driving by VERY SLOWLY...can u say embarrassing???  I nearly died, what must they have thought seeing Christmas lights gleaming through the window so early on in November? Ha! ;) Oh well, I love Christmas...what can I say!! ;)
Have a great day, everyone!

LOVE LOVE LOVE IT!!!!! (and guess what??) I decorate my family room/kitchen area almost exactly the same!!!! WELL...that is with the peppermint candies, candy canes, red, white, green.... your decorations are much NICER than mine! There is just something about the candies and red/white/green that make me feel HAPPY!!! (must be all the sugar! LOL!) Thanks for all the inspiration.... and I surely wish I had your energy!!! Can you bottle some and send it my way.... please...... :) Just 18 more days and I'll be on my 5 day to Christmas decore run! I think I'm really liking that way you take the month to get it done.... I always feel so rushed and thrown together!

I'll be watching for my bottle-o-energy!
Sending lots of HUGS and HAPPINESS your way!
Thanks!!!!! for always sharing!

(Laughing) I can just picture you frozen like a deer in the headlights, then making a mad leap for the light switch. ❈ The wreath turned out great, you are so creative and, might I add, very patient to take the time to style your own wreaths and garlands. I love that checkered ribbon that is peeking out on the mantle and the trees are really cute too. ❈ I love being able to tuck all of your ideas away in the back of my mind before Christmas so that when it comes time for me to decorate it looks like I know what I'm doing. ❈ Just think of your early decorating as you taking one for the team (us). Although I know you love it so much it's just plain fun for you! ❈

Funny you forgot the tree was still lit. I bet the passers by were enjoying the beautiful sight. Arriving's post above..made me laugh out loud with the "deer in the headlights" comment! ha-ha

Your mantel looks so pretty! I love the glittery look it has.

There's a house around the block from me who has had their Christmas decor lit & shining for all to see since last week.

That wreath is fabulous, Liz! I love the colors/patterns in the mesh and the gift boxes and "candy" look great. It is so abundant and full, I think it looks great on your metal piece.

Liz, your mantel and wreath are wonderful. I have always decorated early. In fact my friends always teased me about decorating before everyone else. Not so any more! Everyone is decorating earlier and I think it's great. Christmas is after all, such a short and beloved season, why not decorate early? Can't wait to see the rest of your room! Thanks for sharing.

Blessings,
Sandi

So pretty, Liz! I'm itching to get my Christmas stuff out. I really like the way some of the ornaments on the mantle hang over the front.

Liz,
I love the wreath!! Stunning!!
In my current post, I show pics of a Craft Fair that I participated in and there was a vendor there that had a lot of these wreaths. There are pics of hers in my post.
I love the candy accents and I wish I had a Hobby Looby near me because I decorate my kitchen using a lot of candy and gingerbread men elements. I have the whole upstairs decorated with 6 trees and will be starting on the downstairs this weekend....I like to be done by Thanksgiving Day weekend....

Hugs,
Deb

Thanks for the laugh!! I bet those people driving by wished their tree was up and decorated. LOL
I think your mantle is just fabulous.
I have a confession, I always decorated the kitchen in reds and greens and used the kids ornaments on the kitchen tree. The tree in the den is always gold and glass ornaments (very formal), BUT I love seeing your red and green. It made me smile, I do believe that I will be changing my tree this year! I think the whole house shall be RED and GREEN.
Thanks for the inspiration,
Melissa

Liz,
I love the festive look of your mantel! I'll bet it makes you smile every time you look at it... I have a similar iron piece in my family room and you just gave me an idea.... LOL

I promise you, you are not the first to put decorations up. I once went into a home on school business to find the Christmas tree up already.... And it was early August! And later I called the same home and the message on the answering machine CrAcKeD mE uP..... "Sorry we missed your call and HAPPY HOLIDAYS!" And it was late August! It takes all kinds, doesn't it?
