Tuscan "Old World" Decor

For those of you that *LOVE*
Old World Tuscan  Decor...
Head over to BIG LOTS this weekend! I went today and SCORED several cute items for $5.00 to $8.00 a piece.
I purchased some corn husks from Michaels and plan to put the husks in these vases and plank them on either side of my mantle in the living room.
I bought two shelves and I love the detail on them.
If I follow through with my plans, I am planing to place the vases on these shelves on either side of the mantle.
I adore these black candle holders.
 Love the detail.
I have been wanting this pot for some time now.  The entire collection is on sale.  So, when I walked in, I was like.....SOLD!!  All summer I have waited for these items to come down in price.  It just goes to show that sometimes when you wait for something, your patience pays off.
I thought this candle holder was pretty and got two orange colored decorative candles, too!
I love anything that has a Fleur de Lis on it, so I naturally had to have this. ;)
I got two bags of Fall Acorns in various sizes and it also comes with fall leaves inside the bag, too! How cute would these be in a bowl?
Well, off I go to decorate with these items. I hope you all are having a great weekend and keeping cool! XOXO ~Liz

Sea Life At It's Best - 2 Beaches in One Day

Let's Go Exploring
1st Stop...
E N M O N D ' S   B E A C H, WA
We decided to visit Edmond's Beach at low tide and what was
E X P O S E D...
A    M   A   Z   E  D  *  U   S!!!
Check out this BIG Starfish!  My girl's were absolutely captivated by it.
We found all sizes of Starfish.  The girl's were in their glory!   In fact, they got quite the collection going! ;)
It almost became a challenge to see just how many they could find.
Kailey thought the Starfish felt creepy.
These Starfish could have kept them there all day, as you can see there was an abundance of them.
We came across lots of crabs, too!  See, this dead one on the sand that had washed ashore?  The girl's felt so terrible for the poor little creature.
This one was alive!
We saw Sea Snails, too!
Katie found a fish, but I have no clue what kind it is.
There were a bunch of anemones stuck to rocks.
Seal Statue
Looking out to Sea.
Lots of Seagulls .
Bye EDMOND'S BEACH, we sure had fun!
Now onto our next Beach:
D e s t i n a t i o n...
MUKILTEO LIGHTHOUSE!
 Such a small cute Lighthouse!
 Some background on it...
Before we hit the beach, we went and got a scoop of ice cream! YUM!
 YUMMERS!
Down to the beach we went...
 We looked at the...
 And the..
 Very interesting...
Once down near the shore, we found
TONS OF BABY CRABS!
Once again...the kids were in their glory!
Even seaweed was interesting to look at!
We watched the Ferry come and go from Mukilteo to Whidbey Island!  We love hearing the ferry's horn! ;)
It was such a fun day of exploring.
We went to Ivar's for lunch and got fish and chips and then headed home.  We all learned so much about sea life.  I love outings that are not only fun, BUT educational!
The kids were wiped out from a day of exploring, and if the truth be told, so was I!
Thanks for stopping by!
XOXO ~LIZ

Shower Curtain Spring Rod - Used as a Curtain Hanger

Double Door Dilemma
How many of you have a difficult window that you want privacy on, but can't hang a curtain, or wood blind, because you don't want to screw into your  trim work to hang the wood blind, or curtain?  Well, that was my situation, until I had the idea to use a spring rod.  When I went shopping, I ran into the problem of not being able to find a spring rod that was long enough in length.  I did, however, find that the
SHOWER CURTAIN SPRING RODS
are long enough to accommodate my large double door -windows.
This is the dilemma: Heavy trim work.  On one side of the door is drywall, and on the other is kitchen cabinetry...which leaves no where to install a shade, wood blind, or curtain rod.  I only have one side I can drill into, so that scenario won't work.
I love these doors, but at night I like the curtains drawn for privacy, but because I tied the curtain panels back, I can't close them. So, this was my solution:
All supplies were purchased at Walmart.
1.)Shower Curtain Spring Rod
2.) (2) Faux Lined Curtain Panels
3.) (2) packages of curtain Clips
(as seen below)
Curtain Panels
This is what the shower curtain spring rod looked like hung.  Whose going to know, right? ;)
YAY...privacy!
This is the world's easiest install.  I wish I would have thought of it sooner.   Now that summer is finally ramping up out here in WA, this back door brings in a lot of heat and sun in the late afternoon.  It's amazing how well these curtains block the heat and cool this space down.
So, if you have a space, or dilemma similar to mine, give this thought a try...you'll be happy you did!
Have a great day, everyone! XOXO ~Liz

My Sister has begun her Fall Transformation

Hi Everyone!  My sister lives in Arizona, and even though the temperatures are still high, she is so ready for Fall!  She actually started decorating before me!  Allison is supposed to send me more pictures, but this is what she's sent me so far.
Below sits Mr. KITCHEN PIG...
I am trying to talk my sister into giving him to me when she gets tired of him, isn't he cute?
Here is a primitive pumpkin person holding a crow.
We *LOVE* candles in my family.
Here's a small statue holding some fall pumpkins, leaves, and corn.

It's fun to display seasonal cookbooks.
Allison just purchased two hurricane candle holders from Pier 1 Imports!
I love these little primitive Halloween characters.
This is a Lizzie High Doll, isn't she cute?
When I looked at my stats the other day, I noticed  there was a tremendous amount of people searching for "fall decor" or "fall ideas" so I thought why not share more ideas, even if it is early!  ;)
Have a great day everyone!
XOXO ~Liz
