Family Room - Decorated for Fall and Autumn Arrives Party - Link up!

Fall In The Family Room
Hi Everyone, sorry I haven't posted much the past few weeks, I've been busy playing catch-up around the house. I apologize for getting the Autumn Arrives Party started late, so I will leave it up through the weekend.  Link up as much as you would like! =)  Join me and I'll show you around the Family Room.
The one thing I love about this room is the fireplace, it is the focal point of the room.  I must admit, this room presents many decorating challenges, as there is not a lot of wall space to work with.  The large windows, the fireplace, the large entertainment unit and bookshelves take up the majority of the wall space in this room, and on the opposite wall is a curved wall.
I tried to make the colors conducive to fall by bringing in some orange pillows, and adding accessories in golds, oranges, browns, greens, and beige.

In the pictures below, I love how the sunlight hits the curved wall in the evening, it really accentuates the curved wall.

It seems the Disney Channel runs 24-7 in my house.
At the top of the entertainment unit, I added two different garlands. One is twiggy garland, and the other one is a berry garland in fall colors. I added pumpkins and gourds in various sizes.
Here is the right bookshelf accessorized for Fall.

This is the table beside the couch.
On the coffee table there is a basket full of pumpkins and corn.
I love the warm colors.
I like these pillows....very comfy!
This is the far left bookcase.

We have a Bio Cube Saltwater Reef Tank in the family room, so these little Halloween Characters sit on top of it! ;)
Thanks for stopping by! I don't know about all of you, but I am so ready to get going on xmas. It is cold here in WA and I am ready for twinkle lights. ;)

Powder Room

A little touch of Fall - in the Powder Room!
I know some may find it a bit over the top adding fall decor to a powder room, but why not?
I didn't add a lot, just some fall colors and a few pumpkins.
I previously had a summer floral arrangement in here, so I changed it out with these fall floral stems.
I added a fall berry garland to the mirror.
I added a pumpkin, and tied two leaves on it with a stand of raffia.
I placed the Pumpkin on top of a Fleur de Lis candle holder.
I bought a cute table from Ross last week, sorry I didn't get it in the picture, but I made this little table display as you walk in.
This Thomas Kinkade picture hangs on the wall.
I like to switch out the bathroom hand towel for the seasons, too!
It's fun to add a little subtle change here and there, don't you think?
Thanks for stopping by!

Christmas Cone Craft Project

Yes, I know, I uttered the word - Christmas! ;)
Yesterday, while browsing through Tuesday Morning, I saw the cutest "Cone" Christmas Tree's made out of a hard cardboard, and pipe cleaners.  The cones were in two different sizes, one costing $14.99 and the taller one was $16.99.  I thought that was a bit pricy for such a simple project, so I decided to save a little money, and attempt it myself.
The cones at Tuesday morning had red glitter all over the cone.  I wanted to spare myself the mess and hassle, so I purchased some red glittery ribbon, instead, and hot glued it all around the cone.
I must admit, this project did take some time, because I had to take each pipe cleaner in red, green, and silver, and bend them into little circles.  I got the kids involved and had them help me. =)
Really, all you do is hot glue the pipe cleaners onto the cone and whala....done! =)
I plan on making another one tomorrow that I will vary slightly.  Thanks for stopping by! =)

The Sky This Morning

Errie And Beautiful Sky
Just wanted to share a few pictures that were taken around 6am this morning.  It was dark and cloudy, but the moon was out and very bright.
There was something so mysterious about the sky....
 that made it so pretty.
Every now and then the clouds would open up and the moon would peek through.  Just wanted to share! XO ~Liz

Fall Kitchen Tour

Join me for a kitchen tour,
full of Fall Fun!
Ok, I admit it, I went overboard.  I honestly, can't help myself, as I *LOVE* Fall!
You'll hear me saying this from time to time...MORE IS BETTER!!
Less is more, is *NOT* in my vocabulary! ;)
There's a lot going on in this kitchen, but honestly that's what I love about it.  I have to love my kitchen, or I am not going to want to cook in it, so I have made it cozy and warm.
I love that there is a lot of light in this kitchen, especially when we have dark-rainy days.  There is a big window above the sink and a big skylight above, which allows a lot of natural light to come through.
I added a mirror above the table and hung a wreath using wire ribbon.  See the twig cones?  I added some fall lights and garland to dress it up.
I wish my pictures were better, but this kitchen glows at night with warmth.  Above the kitchen window I added a Happy Halloween sign and a bunch of pumpkins and gourds.
Love the range and hood! By the way, I hung my picture above the range using a Command Hook. Yes - they even work on stone. :)
A close-up of the cones.
Here is Mr. Bistro Man, I love him!! Isn't he cute holding some dried corn for the season?
A view from the Family Room.
I love the black and orange colors together.
I couldn't leave the top cabinets undressed, so I added the Autumn sign, some wheat, and a fall arrangement.
You may recall that I made this arrangement last year, it now sits on the kitchen table.
Michael's had these little pumpkins and I thought they were adorable all sparkly and shimmery, so they now sit on the counter-top.
On the other side of the cabinets, I've added Mr. Roo, some pumpkins, and a Pumpkins sign.
  I love candles....
A close-up of my wreath.
When I first began my fall decorating, I had these two lamps on the table, but then changed it out with the twig/lit cones.
I found these cute wood acorns at Tuesday Morning and placed them in the cake holder.
Another look at my little pumpkins from Michael's.
I found two shelves at Ross for $11.99 and decorated them using my fall plates and two topiaries and pumpkins on either side.
I like displaying my fall platter.
Isn't this pumpkin cute?  I dressed it up by adding leaves around the base.
Ross has a really good selection of pumpkins.  If I did a pumpkin post and showed you my collection from Ross, you would be amazed at the variety I have found there.
I got these wood pumpkins from Michael's.
Pumpkin Pasta from Big Lots.
Please excuse the black runner with the bar-stools sitting on it.  It is there so the kids won't scratch the floors.  I need to find a runner that matches my big area rug in the dining area.
Lots of counter space for prepping and cooking.
I used Command Hooks to hang my wreaths on the glass doors.
I found the Autumn Blessings sign at HomeGoods.  You may recall that sign hanging from my pot rack at the VA house during Fall. ;)
A close-up!
I placed little Miss Pumpkin Girl on top of the Dress Form.
I found the Dress Form at Ross for $39.00 and the apron was $8.99.  Now I can change the apron for the seasons.
I bought these little Halloween characters at HomeGoods and placed them on top of the cabinets in the desk area of the kitchen.  The kids love them!
Chillin' in the kitchen! ;)

Well folks....that's it! I hope you enjoyed the tour.  Thank you all for your comments on my foyer.  I have been very slow to respond to say thank you, so please forgive me.  Hope you're all having a great week!  Be sure to join in on the Fall Giveaway fun.  I will be giving away another $100.00 this Friday, so if you haven't signed up, click on the giveaway button in the far upper right hand corner.
