Adding Drama In The Dining Room

Time For A Change
Happy New Year, everyone!!  Today, I decided to make a few changes in the Dining Room.  I wanted to add a little warmth and drama, so I tried something different.  I had two curtain panels, but no rod to hang them on, so I got creative.  I did, however, have two shelves.  I took each curtain panel and I hot glued them to the inside of each shelf, and then hung them.  Whala, instant warmth to the room.
I wanted to add some of those Tuscan colors I love so much, so the curtains panels came in handy.  The panels are purely for decorative purposes only, and that's ok, because I have the shades for privacy.
I kept the table simple in appearance.
I changed the mantle from Christmas to everyday.
I love the ambiance that candles bring to the room.
I added a tray, a Fern arrangement, and some moss and wood balls.
Sorry, for the lightening...it was starting to get dark. ;)
I added a Red Rooster to an arrangement.
I like the Rooster, because the color matches the curtains.
I brought in some lamps that have black in them to match the black shelves that are housing my curtains.
I love our electric fireplace.
I'm addicted to candle sconces, are any of you? ;)
I used to have plate holders on either side of the window and I got tired of looking at them which prompted me to try something different. I was going for a cozier look, so I think I achieved it for now. ;)
I am hoping to get a Tuscan Dining Room set this year, fingers crossed! ;)
The main colors in this room are brown, beige, gold, brown, green, brick red, and yellow.
Earthy colors.
Thanks for stopping by!
Here's to a Happy and Healthy 2012!
xoxo ~Liz

Great idea for the panels, Liz! Love the shelf idea. I am going to have to think outside of the box on how I hang the panels in our sunroom. Mine will be just to soften as we have shades for light and privacy.

Dearest Liz,

For looks you did a great job with the curtain panels! You say you have your shades for privacy but what about being eco-friendly? For saving energy...
Don't know in what climate you live but it could be worthwhile for both hot and cold!
Have a great year and don't give up your hopes on the Tuscan dining set.
Love to you,

Mariette
