au·tumn

The season of the year between summer and winter, lasting from the autumnal equinox to the winter solstice and from September to December in the Northern Hemisphere; fall.
As you can see, I am all geared up and ready for Fall! What attracts me to Fall so much is the beautiful and vibrant changing colors on the trees.  I try to carry those colors throughout my  house from August to mid November.  These colors make me happy.
I just love this fall floral arrangement I got from Hobby Lobby. I've had it now 7 years, and every year I decorate with it.  There are no plans to retire this arrangement, I love it that much.
See these Fall plates, guess where I got them? Walmart.  I've had these plates for 7 years and yet I continue to bring them out every year.  There are some items I just never tire of.
These moss balls I found at Safeway and the basket too! I love mixing textural items together.
Here is the dining room.  I am really enjoying my hanging ladder and lanterns.
I tried to make the dining area, cozy and comfortable.  A few people have asked if I leave my table like this every night, and the answer to that is no!  We have been eating out on our deck table most nights with the weather being so favorable right now, so I just leave my plates on the table purely for decorative purposes.  However, I do pile the plates and pumpkins up when we want to eat indoors. Yes, it is kind of a pain, but I love keeping everything festive this time of year.
I filled this glass candle holder with baby pumpkins and plopped a white candle on top.  I love the contrast.
I really like the browns, oranges, golds, greens, and yellows they make this area pop!
Last weekend, I added three basic white shelves in the dining area and decorated them for Fall.
I love to accessorize, don't you?
Here is another hutch I decorated for Fall.
The plates I found at Hobby Lobby.  I've had them for several years and out they came again!
In the picture below, I took two twig cones and wrapped orange lights around them and a tiny fall garland around each one.  At night, it looks very festive and cozy.
I am all about ambiance, so I love adding lights to my decor items through the seasons.
Below are two cute birds I found at Marshall's, love them!
So, if you're thinking about decorating for Fall, start thinking about what color palette you want to incorporate through your home.  I tend to go with earthy - vibrant colors when the leaves on the trees are at their peek color spectrum, why, because it makes me happy!  Do what makes you happy and bring your home alive this fall season with festive autumn colors!
Get your fall goodies out, Fall will be here sooner than you know it....;)
Thanks for stopping by!!
XOXO ~Liz

Hey Liz! I love fall too and have been itching to get my "stuff"out but have held off a bit just because of the heat here in NC but I am getting it out next week no matter what! I too have things that I've had for years and never tire of so I keep using them year after year!! LOL! Two things...wanted to ask where you got the "baby" pumpkins you put in the candle holder and I also wanted to share with you that today in the Dollar Tree they had glass wine goblets that had fall leaves on them. I thought if you have a dollar tree you might want to check them out! For a $1 each I couldn't pass it up! Hugs! Renee

Hi Renee,
Yay, glad your going to bring out your fall goodies next week. I can imagine that it's hard to get in the fall mood when it's still hot out. We are in the 70's here in WA, so I've been in the fall mood pretty much all summer, ha! Only a handful of hot days here. ;)

Thanks for letting me know about the fall wine goblets, I will have to run over there and check them out, and at $1.00 a piece, you can't beat that, can you! My kind of shopping. =)

Have a great day and thanks for stopping by! XO ~Liz

Very pretty, Liz! I have one or two items that I think I will have to freshen up this year. Plus, I'm hoping to find those Fall items I couldn't find last year. I know I have more pumpkins than what I wound up decorating with.
