Fall Preview

Hello, sweet friends! Well, I know many of you are not ready to decorate for fall just yet, and that's ok, but in looking at my blog stats, I noticed that fall is something that is being searched, more than any other topic at the moment. So, I told myself to have a little "self-control" and to "wait it out" awhile longer before revealing any more Autumn decor, but sense and sensibility went right out the window. So, without further adieu, here are a few sneak peeks at what I've been working on! =)
In the photo above, I took a simple cake platter, added some moss and set a pumpkin and wood acorns down upon it.  I took a fall wreath, set it down on the table, and set the cake platter directly in the center of it.
SIDE NOTE: Remember, cake platters are not just for kitchens, try decorating with one, you'll love the end result, I promise! ;)
On it's own, it looks great just resting on the cake platter, but I wanted to give it the WOW FACTOR, so the wreath really enhanced all the fall colors I was trying to bring into the family room.
I took down my everyday Rooster plates and brought out some old world Tuscan plates for a Fall-ish look.
I took a wood platter, placed some fall leaves and berries down, and added pumpkins in different colors.
I felt like this arrangement needed something, so I added a little black bird!
In the photo below, I placed some raffia down on my shelf, placed a pumpkin down on it, added a couple wooden acorns and a few pumpkins and whala, vignette complete! ;)
I love these earthy colors.
Here is a look at the shelves.

Cake Platter after adding the wreath!
Aren't the wooden acorns cute? I got those at Tuesday Morning last year, a box of them on clearance for $3.99.
Fall is appearing slowly, but surely over at Savvy Seasons and I can't wait to show you more....;)
Thanks for stopping by! XOXO ~Liz

Very pretty, Liz! I'm actually looking forward to getting all my stuff out and going to it, but will probably wait until I'm not working up a sweat just going up the attic stairs. : ) I'm hoping I can find everything this year as some stuff I couldn't find after our move. I'm trying to be good when I go into Hobby Lobby and go past the Fall stuff they have right there at the entrance. I figure I should wait and see what I've got before I get anything new.

Hi Liz, Just found new post. I LOVE the cake glass platter idea. Genius, as usual. The plates are great effect, color and gorgeous are they a set or accents? Fall always makes me think of new plates too.The acorns are precious. It has been very humid here...maybe cooler in your area. Thank you so much for your detailed posts and work and love you put into them...I am burning a Mulled Cider candle because earlier remembered your last posts, LOL....didn't see this one yet! Take care, hugs.Love it all!

I absolutely love to decorate for fall. Almost as much as I do Christmas. However I think I enjoy the fall decorations longer for some reason.
Your decorations are gorgeous!

Beautiful as always my friend! I love the pumpkin in the cake stand, you might be calling me a copy cat when I start to decorate for fall:)

Oh boy! Such beauty! It's still just as hot as it can be here in NC, so fall decor might look a bit odd--but seeing all your pretty things makes me long for Autumn! Actually, it's usually still really hot in September, too, but I get out my fall decor then even if it does still feel like summer!

Now stop that, will you? You know I want to squeeze every last bit out of summer than I can! Our winters are so long and hard here that I grab summer for all it is worth. However, that being said, Fall is really my favorite season. You have a great head start here with ideas! I love them all- you are very talented in "dressing your home up". xo Diana

It is hard for me not to be in fall mode as I do the decorating for the garden center that I work at. I have already put a fall tree filled with scarecrows and pumpkins, did a Halloween display.. and still have lots more to do. It makes me want to get all of my fall decor out at home! I will probably begin at the end of this month at home as it takes me awhile since I really do go all out for fall. My favorite time of the year as the colors are so beautiful. Love your decor skills!

Look what I started with that "missing pumpkins" comment a few weeks ago, ha! Will post again soon, just kind of crazy with finding a place to live, etc. (Yes, we are "pending"!). I really need a day off here!

Liz...I love your style! Your Autumn decorations are awesome!

Will you leave it out until Thanksgiving? Or will you do Christmas decorations before then? Just wondering.

I love to put wreaths on tables around big candles etc.

Your acorns are great...I will be looking for some now. (:>)

Have a great day!
