Bringing Tuscany To The Family Room

Hello Everyone! Can you believe we are about to embark on a new year? Where has the time gone? ;) The other day I was thinking how nice it would be to have a new look and feel to the family room as we turn the corner to 2013, so this is what I came up with... Tuscan colors, earthy, and comfortable!
Animal print is fun to add to any room, so I added these funky lamps.
My favorite color is green, so there is green just about everywhere you look.
I hung my Fleur de Lis wall art on my iron wall art. I love layering things.
I brought in some new pillows and a new throw blanket and I added new curtain panels, too! The room felt cold (in appearance) with just shutters, I really feel the curtain panels add warmth to the space.
I added some new candle sconces (far right), although I still need to purchase candles for them. I moved the sofa up and placed a table behind it with a lamp and some knick-knacks.
I love these new pillows.  I like to mix my pillows.
The arched gate I placed on the old vintage dresser, flanked it with two lamps and added some pottery and greenery.
In the photo above, you can see my new curtain panels...they are green and have a simple wavy design running through them, very subtle.
This little vignette sits on top of a cabinet in the family room.
I finally found my "family" sign after not being able to find it for 2 years, so I hung it today!
I may add some garden balls to my candle sconces, or candles, still thinking about this.
Tuscan Mantle
I have lots of browns, greens, yellows, and rust colors going on in this room.
When all else fails and you need to add height to a table, simply fill a basket with garden balls and you have a nice, simple arrangement.
Adding wall art to other pieces of wall art makes for an interesting look.
Remember you can place garden balls on top of your candle holders as an alternative idea.
I found the two pottery pieces at Ross for a fabulous price and these match well with my new green pillows.
Mix and match pieces and then add a little greenery to soften things up.
If you want to make a simple change, just add new pillows to your sofa.
I tried to make this family room more Tuscan style by adding warm earthy colors, iron pieces, and more pottery. Wait till I show you the entertainment center, I love the new pieces I purchased.
Cozy and Comfortable.
Thanks for visiting and I would like to wish every one of you a happy and healthy 2013!! With Love, Liz

Blooming Hanging Ladder

Hi Everyone! This morning I worked on decorating my.... "HANGING LADDER" and this is what I came up with, I'm calling it my blooming ladder! ;)
There are layers upon layers of Curly Willow branches, floral picks, and a few feathers.
It's always dreadful going from bright vibrant Christmas colors back to the mundane, so I decided to keep the colors alive and brought in spring colors. Why not, right?
Now when we eat beneath the hanging ladder, it feels like we are surrounded by a beautiful  canopy of spring flowers.
I must say, this arrangement is quite the focal point when you walk into this room, definitely a conversation piece! lol! ;)
This look by far is my favorite since hanging the ladder last summer.
It's bright and cheerful and will transition well when it's time to take out the bunnies and spring decor.
I saw this look in a local boutique, so that's where I got this idea!
The colors I went with are greens, yellows, reds, browns, and beige.
Hope y'all have a great weekend! Tootles, Liz

And So It Begins....

The Christmas Take-Down
Hi Everyone, I hope you all had a very Merry Christmas! I'm sorry for the lack of posts and visits to your blogs, I've been super busy. Today, however, I would like to share that I have officially begun...the Christmas TAKE-DOWN!!
It's bitter sweet, I always hate to see all the fun, festive colors come down.  However, with a bit of Christmas money, you can believe I was inspired to get it down fast, out with the old and in with the new.
The house looks like a war zone right now. Packing it up is not a fun task, is it?
Plates, knick-knacks, candles....so much to do and so little time! ;)  I want to get it done before the kids go back to school, this way I have the rest of the week to play and not stress over a messy house after everyone goes back to their daily routines.  Are any of you the same way?
Glitter is EVERYWHERE as well as Christmas Tree needles and ornaments, too!
I group all the items together that I want to go in a box or bin, and then my hubby comes behind and loads it up for me, if you work as a team it goes a lot faster! :)
Yesterday, I did a little shopping in between the "take-down"  ...you know, to break up the monotony?  ;) I am LOVING the new look and colors.
Let's just say, I am bringing back the Tuscan Vibe I have always loved.  My hubby and I are discussing adding Faux Wood Tuscan/Rustic beams to the ceiling.  I love to dream, don't you? I hope to be back with a new post and a new new flare soon, so stay tuned!
Wishing y'all a Happy New Year!! XO ~Liz

Girly-Girl Christmas Room

Hi Everyone! Would you like to take a quick tour of Kailey and Karley's Room decorated for Christmas? Let's begin...
First of all, what girl doesn't like a little glamour, right? This tree is pink and girly! ;)
We added a bunch of signs into this tree for fun!
Two girl's share a room, so the sisters sign was perfect.
In the picture below, I added some greenery and flowers to the top of the tree to create a fun and whimsical tree-topper!
Of course, you know I had to add some mesh ribbon. ;)
And some bows, too!
The girl's rooms are MUCH smaller than previous rooms they've had in the past, but the room is cozy.
You can't really tell in this picture, but the girl's have a city light view right from the comfort of their bunk beds.
This year I am going to explore how to get organized with smaller spaces.
The girl's wanted a pink and black zebra theme.
The bedding, bunk beds, and curtain panels were all purchased at Walmart! ;)
And I must say, the quality is pretty darn good! ;)
The girl's are enjoying their "pinkalicious" tree, as they like to call it! ;)
When all else fails and you can't find a tree skirt, use a small carpet.
Below is a Panorama view.
Well, there you have it, a girl-girl Christmas room! Thanks for visiting! XO ~Liz
