Happy Friday! Yesterday, I deep cleaned my house and took some shots just as the sun was going down. I re-arranged some furniture and accessorized a bit, so I thought I would share some random shots of the house.
I'm adding darker woods and the color yellow here and there!
As I may have mentioned before, our home is long and narrow, so decorating each room is difficult. I am used to an open-concept floor plan, so decorating this style plan presents lots of challenges.
I'm so glad I added those arched gates to the kitchen window, because it felt open and cold, and now it has an architectural element.
I moved the curio out of the kitchen and into the foyer. I love changing things up every few months, so I added the table and lamps in it's place. It really opened things up.
I added the Jardin de Paris pictures on either side of the fireplace and placed some decorative shelves above them. I'm going to get some greenery from Hobby Lobby next week and place the greenery on the shelves and have it cascade down a bit.
A few people emailed me asking how I have decorated my "hanging window" in the kitchen, well, I purchased a few spring garlands from Hobby Lobby and attached them to the pot rack hooks.
At night, I love how the blue sky peaks through the gates.
I used my Pledge Revitalizing Oil again for that sparkly shine...lol!
I am really enjoying my "Hanging Ladder" and I keep thinking ahead on how I want to decorate it next!

Several people emailed me inquiring where I got the wreath in this picture. I purchased it at Home Goods.
I went back to Real Deals and got more Garden Balls....I love these and they are so inexpensive, too!
I re-arranged the foyer.
I loved having curtain panels frame my front door in our old house in Virginia, so I decided to do it here. The difference is, the house in VA had two sidelights on either side of the door, whereas this house only has one window. I didn't let that stop me. I like the warmth and texture it adds, plus at night I can simply close the one side with the panel to give us privacy! ;)
This little shelf is from The Bombay Company (from way back when) and I added three little plants to it!
Here is a look into the foyer. See that "open-area" with no door? Well, guess what I did? I took the door and hinges off, puttied and painted where the hinges used to be and made this "coat closet" a computer room for the kids! Two laptops, a table, two chairs, plus I added a bunch of hooks for backpacks and coats. It's like a mudroom/computer room all in one. More pictures to come on this project!
This vignette is on top of my curio, now in the foyer!
This is the curio's new home! ;) See the window shade next the the curio. I had to add something there, because the house next to us is under construction. Every day there are a gazillion men and work trucks coming and going. Well, I wanted some privacy, so I went to Ross and found this "cordless shade" for only $3.99. Yes, only $3.99, can you believe it? It was an easy install and is lined white facing outward.....love it! :)
Thanks for visiting and have a great weekend! XOXO ~Liz

I agree, still luv those arched gates in the kitchen window. Such warmth and texture. The coat closet turned computer room is such a great idea.
On another note... thanks for the help with the tamales. I made the pork version. ohmygosh!! They were great! The tip on the softening of the husks ... a good one.
Thanks!!
Hugs, Gee
Wow, Liz, you have been busy! Everything looks so pretty! Love that you brought that Tuscan vibe back! Your accents are all just perfect! I've been out of the loop for awhile (decorating for other people). Hopefully, I can get back to my own stuff soon! Your home is gorgeous, my sweet friend!
Love it Liz! I really like the table, lamps and bench you added to the kitchen wall. It's probably my most favorite thing you have done so far. It's all beautiful.
Please tell me about the cordless shade! I am searching for window coverings and treatmants for LOTS of spaces here in the new house. I bet the curtain panel across the front door keeps it warmer at night, wish you would show us a closer picture. I LOOOOOVE your house and decorations. I need to get some more GREENS, obviously. I saw some jars at HG yesterday that had YOU written all over them. Have a GREA weekend, Liz. XO, Pinky PS, I tried the revitalizing oil and LOVE IT!!!!!
Oh my gosh, this is a beautiful showcase of your home. I am slowly trying to incorporate some of your suggestions and art into my home. I have a wonderfully beautiful home but it is poorly decorated except at Christmas. Now that THAT is over, I hate my house (do this every year in Jan) but this year I want to make it warm and inviting like yours. The whole back of my great room is all glass- that is where I struggle, don't want to cover the beautiful nature but know it would be warmer with something.
I think that I need a Real Deal and Ross in Michigan.... love TJM and Marshall's but you have some awesome stuff- love your kitchen windows (showed hubby that!). Thanks for sharing.
Thank you for sharing your beautiful house and I love how you decorated every nook and crany! I specially, love, love the window gates..so fabulous, they added such warmth and old world charm. Lovely! Have a super weekend.

Your home looks beautiful, Liz! Very welcoming in all the pictures. That window turned out to be such a great idea hanging over your island. It really looks nice, as does the ladder over the dining table.
I WOULD NEVER LEAVE THE HOUSE IF THIS WAS MY HOME.
Thanks for the spectacular tour!! Love it!!
I love the evening pics, Liz! Everthing is so warm and inviting. Love it all!
Wow! You've been busy. ❈ I should have cleaned and decorated, but went to a friends and we did a baking hang out day instead. I made pies and she made muffins and chocolate mousse and we traded. Gonna be some happy sugared up kids in the hood tonight, ha! ❈ I need to find something for V-day to put up in the windows..... time for a trip to HL! ❈
Pretty! Bringing in the earthy colors is really inviting and warm. I love that you're mixing the woods, you make it look so nice. I stopped by Homegoods yesterday and they had so many pretty things, some Old World style decorative items! =)
That gate over the kitchen window is one of your best ideas yet!!
Love everything, Liz! It is all gorgeous!! You are the best at accessorizing. Love that you are bringing back the darker woods it's my fav. I have been re arranging all of my decor as well, I get bored after awhile. Hope to have a post up on Sunday..

It all looks great, Liz. I really love the way the kitchen windows look with the grates in them. You did a nice job on everything. Genius idea in the coat closet- xo Diana
The arched gateways truly make all the difference in your kitchen window...and what a breathtaking view. My home office is in my coat closet (you can tour it by clicking on my sidebar picture), and I actually like the coziness. Everything you modified looks superb! I always look forward to your posts.

Love your beautiful home! Had to check out Real Deals (since it's the 2nd time I've seen you mention it since I started reading your blog). No location here, but one in a small town not too far away. We may make a short road trip one Saturday before too long to check it out.
Liz, good evening. What is there to say, breathtaking!!!! I love it all, just gorgeous. The colors, style, greenery, pops and peeks of yellow just the right touch.
