Welcome to Our Tuscan Kitchen

Hello everyone and HAPPY NEW YEAR!! Today, I would like to share some changes I've made to add a bit of Tuscan charm to the kitchen. We have a smaller sized kitchen and no matter how many "Tuscan" pieces I've added, it just wasn't doing it for me.
So, as I was having coffee this morning my eyes kept focusing on the family room mantle and the Iron Gates that were hung above it, and that's when I had a fun idea to mount them to the kitchen wall to give the appearance of Tuscan style gates.
I was thrilled because last Saturday I found a "Real Deals" store in my area and purchased some Tuscan style items to accessorize with.  All the items you see in the window were purchased there with the exception of the large artichoke.
The gates have completely transformed the look of the kitchen, so I am happy-happy-happy!
Who new two items could make such an impact.
I love the big Fleur de lis canister.
I added some greenery on the sides of the gates to draw the eye upward and it also has an herb like quality which is perfect for the kitchen.
Now I need to find something else to go above the fireplace mantle. ;)
I wondered if it was going to make us feel like we were in jail, ha, but it doesn't! ;)
I filled my two glass circleware jars with brown rice and pasta which allows the greenery to fit in nice and snug and stand upward.
I added two black hinges to give the gates some character.
The iron pieces were $39.00 at Ross and normally retail for $80.00 elsewhere.
The big window in the kitchen left me feeling a bit cold, now the kitchen feels warmer in appearance.
We sit perched up on a hill, with a view of the city in the distance, today we had massive fog, so my pictures aren't great!
I placed the hinges on to hold the two pieces together.
Night Shot.
Accessorizing!
Now I have a focal point in the kitchen and who would have thought it would be the window! ;)
Warm. Cozy. Tuscan Kitchen.
I will share the whole kitchen soon.
Have a great week everyone! XO ~Liz

Very pretty, Liz! I love your valance, too. It's funny how sometimes you look at something in one room and think how it would look in another. This worked out great for you.
